About us

New Life Church is a community of faith rooted in the love of God. We believe worship is not just found in prayer, it’s something expressed in everything we do. Our philosophy is deeply rooted in the Holy Scriptures, life’s only guidebook. Come and join us to experience God’s grace for yourself. There’s a special place for you at NLC!

WHAT WE BELIEVE

God - God is the one true God.  He is the creator of Heaven and Earth and the Redeemer of mankind.  He eternally exists and is manifested in three persons:  the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus - Jesus is the Son of God and Lord of all creation.  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.  He lived a sinless life and offered Himself as the perfect and final sacrifice.  He paid the payment in full for the sins of all people.  He did this by dying on the cross and suffering the punishment of sin for all mankind.  He arose from the dead to demonstrate His power over sin and death.  He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again some day to earth to reign.  He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Ordinances - Water baptism by immersion soon after accepting Christ as your personal Savior is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life.  The Lord’s Supper or Communion is a memorial service setting forth in sacred and symbolic manner the death of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Man - Man came into being through a special creative act of God.  Man is the crowning part of God’s creation in that he was created in God’s image and was given dominion over the earth.  Man is basically a three-part unity.  He fell from his original state of holy innocence and probation through willful disobedience.  As a result, God’s image was marred, death was introduced to the world and the sin nature has been passed down through the ages.  Although man has tremendous potential for good, he is marred by sin that separates him from God.  Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works.  The sin problem of mankind can only be remedied by trusting in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, asking for forgiveness of ones’ sin and confessing Jesus Christ and ones’ Savior.

Eternity - People were created to exist forever.  We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation.  Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

The Bible - The Bible is God’s Word to us.  Human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit wrote it.  It is the supereme source of truth for Christian beliefs about living.  Because God inspired it, it is truth without error.

Salvation - Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it.  We can never make up for our sin by self improvement or good works.  Only by trusting in Jesus Christ and His redemptive work can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty.  When we repent of (turn from) our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are forgiven and saved.  A believer in Jesus Christ should be water baptized by full immersion as a means of identifying with Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection and for empowerment in leaving behind the old way of life.

The Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit is the connection and the source of power in the believer’s life.  Upon receiving Christ we become the Temple of the Holy Ghost, and He begins a new work in us.  We believe in the filling of the Holy Spirit like in Acts 2. He draws us to God for regeneration then overflows into our lives in spiritual manifestations.  These experiences of overflow are essential for a victorious spirit filled life.  They provide the Christian with power and boldness for living, understanding, and receiving of spiritual truth and guidance in doing what is right.  The gifts of the Spirit and evidence of the fruits of the Spirit are a result of His Spirit working through us.
